Evening: Cabaret show and dinner at Le Bœuf sur le Toit.
Le Bœuf sur le Toit has dazzled guests since its opening in 1921. It quickly became the heart of the city’s cabaret scene throughout the roaring twenties. At its premiere, pianist Jean Wiéner — brought by Moysés from Gaya — played Gershwin melodies accompanied on drums by none other than Jean Cocteau and Darius Milhaud. Pablo Picasso, René Clair, Sergei Diaghilev, and Maurice Chevalier were all in attendance.
Jazz musicians from all the Paris clubs would gather at Le Bœuf after their gigs to jam late into the night. After all, Paris was the city of jazz. The French expression "faire un bœuf", meaning “to jam”, comes directly from the name of this very cabaret.
